Many people have been seeking advice on preparing their homes for the market in the upcoming months. To address this, I recently evaluated my own home and considered what steps I would take to get it ready for sale in about three months:

1. Get a home inspection. For a fee ranging from $300 to $400, you can get a comprehensive list of necessary repairs and improvements. With this list in hand, a handyman could efficiently address the majority of issues within the home. After, consider bringing in specialists like roofers and HVAC technicians for specific concerns.

“An inspection will let you know where your property stands.”

2. Improve your interior. Touch up paint, neutralize bold color choices, and address caulking issues, especially in the kitchen and bathrooms. Then, declutter by removing unnecessary junk, donating unnecessary items, and packing away things you don’t need immediately.

3. Upgrade your curb appeal. Upgrade your outdoors by adding a fresh coat of paint to your front door. Next, focus on landscaping to give buyers the best impression possible when viewing your home.

4. Hire a stager or designer. A good stager costs around $100 to $200, but it’s worth it. You should also consult an experienced real estate agent. Inviting them to assess the home and address any concerns or questions could provide valuable insights.

I hope these suggestions prove helpful. Feel free to call or email me with any questions. I look forward to hearing from you!
